The overnight window

During deep sleep the brain shifts into delta and consolidates what it has been rehearsing. Emotional memories are reprocessed, and the content rehearsed earlier in the day is integrated more thoroughly than anything learned in a single sitting.

Running a sleep session

  • Keep the narration at the low end of the blend — audible but not the foreground.
  • Set the duration to 45–90 minutes: long enough to carry you through sleep onset, short enough not to run until morning.
  • Aim the session earlier in the night, when deep sleep dominates.

Ending safely

If you wake mid-session, stop it rather than letting it run on. A gentle fade is built into every session so the transition out of it is never abrupt.
